Now Playing Tracks

The post Guiding lights.

Well, it was a fairly staright interview. I feel it went well but you can never be sure. The panels was the two lovely ladies from Lighthouse (Emily and Becca) and Damian Jones, producer of Adulthood and Kidulthood. How funny. I actually forgot he produced Adulthood and kept raving on about how in our project with mr Noel Clarke we plan to follow the same web-based marketing strategy etc. I am sure I saw Damian smirk a couple of times.

I do hope I’ll be selected. I’ll tell you who I chose as mentors after the long friends consultation when I hear if I made it or not. Im Italian so you have to allow me to be supersticious…its in my blood.

Will find out as early as wednesday, fingers crossed. If I make it the first event will be next saturday at lighthouse. I am dying to see who is selecetd. I saw ont he register a couple of well-known faces and I’d love to get to know them better and, who knows, perhaps even work together.

If I dont make it…I’ll definitely reapply next year! Fingers crossed!!!

Ready for Guiding lights interview? Kind of

Tomorrow I have my interview for ‘Guiding lights’. www.guiding-lights.org.uk. Its one of the top training schemes for film-makers in the UK. They send you with a mentor that you select yourself. And you can choose anyone in the UK. Anyone.

Once you are shortlisted, and it is hard enough to just get shortlisted, you have to go for an interview with a panel and ideas for 3 mentors you would like. It took me a week of research to check the producers of almost every single film and tv series I enjoyed in the last few years.

Do you go for feature film track record, awards, bankability, access to talent…or?

Bit of everything. Few meetings today than tomorrow the big day. Yippeeee.

Fingers crossed!

My first post

Dear all, welcome to my first proper, official. blog. After blabbering left right and center on our production company website (www.newtreatment.co.uk) and clogging every page with my blabbering, we decided to streamline the website and get rid…ahem…of me. So I thought having a blog would work well.

About me: I am a producer working for my company, New Tretament. You may have heard of us on facebook and twitter as we make a lot of noise and occasionally produce work of certain brilliance. I am biased of course.

I dont know what to expect of this but I need the outlet of a blog.

Happy with my first blabbering, I have to go and check my daughter out as she has been poorly recently. Life of a producer…
